Summer Serve provides opportunities for members of the Prestonwood community to serve in locations across North Texas. Many opportunities for individuals, families and small groups are offered through the partner organizations listed below. For groups larger or younger than defined, contact the partner organization to discuss specific group needs. The minimum age depends on the activity, and most require adult supervision for children under 16 years of age.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. —Ephesians 2:10
The Hunger Project
At least one in five North Texas children are labeled “food insecure,” not having enough food to eat. Led by partner organizations across North Texas, summer programs provide meals to children who would otherwise not have one. In the past two years, requests for food assistance have more than doubled in some areas of our community. We can help by dropping off non-perishable food supplies (bags, cans, and boxes) in the collection bins located in front of the Prestonwood Missions building located at the back of the Plano Campus church parking lot.
