Name: Kujriya of Sudan
Population: 16,000
Primary Religion: Islam (100%)
Status of Gospel: Unreached and unengaged; no evangelicals (0.00%) and none who identify as Christian (0.00%);
The Kujriya is a tribe living in 10 villages in the remote Nuba Mountains. They make their living as farmers and ranchers. Their main crops are sorghum and corn.
There are no known schools or healthcare facilities in their villages. The remoteness of their villages and their dedication to the Islamic religion present significant obstacles. There are likely no believers among their neighbors to reach them.
The Kujriya follow Sunni Islam which is the largest branch of Islam in the world. They speak Sudanese Arabic; a translation of the New Testament in their language exists.
Prayer Points
- Pray that the Lord would give Kujriya family leaders dreams of the holy and risen Christ, and that they will share their dreams with many others.
- Pray that the Lord would send loving and dedicated workers to the Kujriya people of Sudan.
- Pray for the day when Kujriya disciples will make more disciples.
